Again, congratulations to all at Alinea Restaurant!

This just in: Alinea (1723 N. Halsted St., 312-867-0110) is the 7th best restaurant in the world, according to the 2010 S. Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurants list.

Alinea, which made its debut at #36 back in 2007, jumped to #21 2008, leaped another 11 places to reach 10th place in 2009, now has moved up 3 more, making it number one in the U.S.

According to Steve Dolinsky, the “evening’s biggest upset happened at the top: Copenhagen’s Noma finally knocked Spain’s El Bulli off for the number one position, moving El Bulli to number two, with the UK’s Fat Duck coming in at number three.”
