About a year ago, I received a shipment from <a href="http://www.jbprince.com/" title="J.B. Prince and Company, New York, NY">J.B. Prince</a>: an <a href="http://www.jbprince.com/table-service/peacock-skewer-set-by-crucial-detail.asp" title="Alinea Restaurant peacock skewer set by Crucial Detail">Alinea Restaurant "Peacock" skewer set</a> (US$65.50) and some <a href="http://www.jbprince.com/table-service/craters-plate-by-crucial-detail.asp" title="Alinea serveware designed by Crucial Detail">"Craters" plates</a> (US$52.50 each). You can also get just the skewers, sold as <a href="http://www.jbprince.com/pc_product_detail.asp?key=B61DE597F56A47099E441B1E18CA5B7D" title="Alinea stainless steel skewer replacement set.">a replacement set</a> (US$30.60) from J.B. Prince.<br />
<br />
<a class='serendipity_image_link' href='http://alineaphile.com/uploads/serveware/P1100883.JPG'><!-- s9ymdb:1226 --><img class="serendipity_image_center" width="500" height="375" style="border: 0px; padding-left: 5px; padding-right: 5px;" src="http://alineaphile.com/uploads/serveware/P1100883.tn.JPG" alt="" /></a><br />
<br />
The surgical stainless steel set (7.0-inch rods x 0.75-inch base) came packed in its own padded box. <br />

<a class='serendipity_image_link' href='http://alineaphile.com/uploads/serveware/P1130409.JPG'><!-- s9ymdb:1838 --><img class="serendipity_image_center" width="500" height="353" style="border: 0px; padding-left: 5px; padding-right: 5px;" src="http://alineaphile.com/uploads/serveware/P1130409.tn.JPG" alt="" /></a><br />
<br />
The delicate skewers (5) themselves were in a hard plastic tube. This elegant set was designed by Martin Krasner of <a href="http://www.crucialdetail.com/" title="Crucial Detail Design, Chicago, Illinois">Crucial Detail</a> for Grant Achatz's Chicago restaurant, <a href="http://www.alinea-restaurant.com/" title="Alinea Restaurant, Chicago, Illinois">Alinea</a> and is <a href="http://www.crucialdetail.com/shop/peacock.html" title="Alinea stainless steel skewer set from Crucial Detail">available from them</a> as well (US$60.00).<br />

<a class='serendipity_image_link' href='http://alineaphile.com/uploads/serveware/P1130417.JPG'><!-- s9ymdb:1840 --><img class="serendipity_image_center" width="500" height="375" style="border: 0px; padding-left: 5px; padding-right: 5px;" src="http://alineaphile.com/uploads/serveware/P1130417.tn.JPG" alt="" /></a><br />
<br />
I bought this set for the <em>PEANUT, Five Other Flavors</em> recipe, but first used some of the skewers for the Fennel Candy component in <em>SQUAB, Watermelon, Licorice, Foie Gras.</em>.<br />
